Deputy Director for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Regional Economic Development Team

Aly Grady is the Deputy Director for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Regional Economic Development Team. With this position, Aly works with local governments, community partners, businesses, and other entities to serve the needs and promote economic development across the state of Illinois. Aly has been working in state government for over 20 years and brings her knowledge and experience into this role to further the mission of DCEO. That mission is to support and maintain a strong economic environment for those served – taxpayers, employers, workers, and communities – by actively recruiting and growing businesses, maintaining a 21st-century workforce, enhancing innovation, and brining jobs and investment to underserved communities throughout Illinois. Aly is a Central Illinois native having grown up in Mattoon and living for over 25 years in the Springfield area

Maria Moran

Member Engagement, IMA

Maria Moran joined the IMA in 2022 with over 20 years of manufacturing partnerships. She has been a trusted advisor to small and medium business, mid-level and enterprise organizations throughout Illinois, connecting business leaders to the experts and solutions needed to grow. Always curious and eager to learn, Maria enjoys building long lasting relationships that provide value to all stakeholders. Maria is based in Oak Brook and works primarily in Chicago, its suburbs, and the Rockford area.

Kristy Johns

Vice President of Marketing, Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center

As the VP of Marketing at IMEC, I view our department at an extension of our talented field team. We provide tools and resources to help the team identify prospects, provide customer service, nurture accounts and spread the IMEC message.

With over 10 years of experience in strategic marketing, including project management, campaign development, digital marketing, graphic design, CRM integration and brand development, I have worked with clients across multiple industries, from small organizations to Fortune 500 companies. My expertise in strategic planning and implementation has helped them expand their markets and product offerings to a new or existing customer base. This also resulted in award-winning campaigns that helped to increase brand awareness. Ultimately, these organizations were able to increase efficiency and profitability through their sales channels.

I am excited to bring my experience and knowledge to help the IMEC team continue to grow and create competitive futures. The work we do and the services that we offer are so important to help organizations in Illinois prosper. I am excited to be a part of such an impactful team.

Sean Pritchard

Advantage Illinois Financial Review Manager with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO).

Sean Pritchard is the Advantage Illinois Financial Review Manager with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). Sean oversees the Advantage Illinois Loan Participation Program (PLP) and the new upcoming Loan Guarantee Program (LGP) and works with lenders and small business throughout the State.

Sean joined the DCEO team in February of 2020 as the Assistant Deputy Director of Business Development and has worked on small and large economic/ business development projects, business attraction, tax incentives and loans. Sean came to the State from the private sector including a nationwide insurance company as head of special projects, banking, and business development.

Stephen Coyle

Assistant State Director – Illinois SBDC Network

Stephen Coyle is the new Assistant State Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Centers network within the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) as of October 2023. With this position, Stephen helps lead the operations for all Small Business Development Centers (SBDC’s), APEX and International Trade Centers located within the State of Illinois.

Stephen is a Central Illinois native growing up in Mahomet and has been living in Springfield the past 10 years. He has been involved in small business development his whole career by way of the Banking industry, where he was previously a Vice President Commercial Lender in the community bank sector.

What drives Stephen today is his passion for helping people, building a prosperous community and being present where his two feet lay. Active volunteerism is important part of his life as he serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Salvation Army (Springfield, IL). Stephen is married to his wife Emma and together have two children.
