CHICAGO, IL – The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC) and the Illinois District Export Council (ILDEC) announce they have teamed up to provide additional support aimed at helping Illinois manufacturers navigate today’s complex global trade environment. Through a series of targeted webinars and educational programming, this initiative will equip manufacturers with the knowledge and tools they need to strengthen their supply chains and expand international trade capabilities.
The partnership will focus on four core areas critical to manufacturing competitiveness: supply chain resilience, export readiness, import strategy, and tariff compliance. These topics will be explored in regular virtual events hosted by both organizations, drawing on the expertise of trade professionals, logistics experts, compliance officers, and Illinois-based manufacturers.
“As global trade dynamics continue to shift, Illinois manufacturers must stay informed and adaptable,” said Jaclyn Kolodziej, Director of Marketing at IMEC. “This partnership with ILDEC allows us to offer timely, relevant education that empowers manufacturers to make strategic decisions and grow through global opportunities.”
ILDEC, a volunteer-led organization affiliated with the U.S. Department of Commerce, brings decades of international trade experience to this effort. Together, IMEC and ILDEC will deliver actionable insights on topics such as:
- Understanding tariffs and trade regulations
- Working effectively with freight forwarders and customs brokers
- Creating export/import compliance programs
- Exploring new markets for growth
- Managing supply chain risks and delays
“This collaboration strengthens our shared commitment to helping Illinois businesses succeed globally,” said Sam Odeh, Chair of the Illinois District Export Council. “Manufacturers of all sizes can benefit from understanding how to mitigate trade barriers and capitalize on international demand.”
The webinar series will launch this summer and is open to all Illinois manufacturers. IMEC and ILDEC encourage participation from leaders in operations, logistics, and international business strategy.
