Joanne Ruiz is a workforce development and training specialist at IMEC with a background in manufacturing, employee engagement, and cross-functional communication. She partners with Illinois manufacturers to strengthen workforce engagement, improve communication, and implement structured training programs that enhance employee performance and organizational effectiveness.
Growing up in a manufacturing family and beginning her career in the steel industry, Joanne developed firsthand insight into the operational and workforce challenges manufacturers face. Her experience managing automotive accounts and navigating cross-border logistics strengthened her expertise in communication, process improvement, and employee empowerment. As a bilingual professional, she helps manufacturers effectively engage both English- and Spanish-speaking employees, ensuring training and development initiatives reach the entire workforce.
At IMEC, Joanne works closely with manufacturers to implement Training Within Industry (TWI) programs, improve onboarding and workforce development practices, and build more inclusive and high-performing teams.
