Lending a Hand:
I was born and raised in the manufacturing community of Southern Illinois and have been an active part of it for over 35 years. I have become so attuned to the manufactures in this area that I know their customers, suppliers, employees and even down to their dress code at their facilities.
Southern Illinois manufacturing is unique on so many different levels and I pride myself on having the right answers for the right situations. My experience in the area and in the field has equipped me with the proper skills to help move Southern Illinois manufacturing forward.
I started off my career in Herrin for a sheet metal manufacturer 35 years ago and that’s when I knew manufacturing was for me and it was in my blood. My dad was an Industrial Engineer Professor at SIU, and along with myself, sister and three sons we all graduated from that very same program. Not only was most of my family part of the program, I became an instructor as well. My daughter is also at SIU in the business department.
I have more than 45 years in manufacturing, many of which were in the aircraft industry. I have held such positions as Project Manager, Director of Manufacturing Engineering, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Sheet Metal Worker, Job Cost Estimator, University Professor, College Instructor, Mechanical Contractor and Consultant. I am a Certified Manufacturing Technologist and Certified Manufacturing Engineer as well.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Master of Science in Industrial Manufacturing Technology from California State University.
