Get Acquainted with Baldrige | 8:00am – Noon
Get acquainted with the basics of the Baldrige Excellence Framework, what it is and what it is not, why the framework has been successfully used by other organizations to understand opportunities for improvement and create an alignment of processes. This workshop is recommended for organizations that want to learn how the Baldrige Excellence Framework can help them with continuous improvement endeavors. At the end of the session, you will understand the basics of the Baldrige Excellence Framework and options to move your organization to the next level.
Facilitator: Lynn Goldman is a licensed clinical social worker who began her “Baldrige Career” as an ILPEx Examiner in 1997. At that time she was a young quality professional working in Quality Improvement for State Operated Psychiatric Hospitals. Little did she know this experience 22 years ago would lead to a second career after retirement from State service. One year as an ILPEx examiner turned into 22 years as a State Examiner, 2 years as a National Baldrige Examiner and the opportunity to coach an organization on their Baldrige Journey culminating in recognition as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Recipient in 2018. Lynn currently works as an independent consultant in helping organizations implement the Baldrige Excellence Framework and assessing accreditation and regulatory compliance for behavioral healthcare organizations.
Tell Your Story: Writing an Award for Excellence Application | 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Learn about the Baldrige Excellence Framework, the application process, and the IMEC recognition award levels. Develop an understanding of how to get started on writing an application, evaluating where you are in the organizational process, with tips and examples on how to get the most out of your application, and understanding key points of the criteria in relationship to your organization. This workshop is highly recommended for all applicants.
Facilitator: Joe Kilbride is the author of Road Map for the Baldrige Journey. An experienced consultant and Baldrige expert, Kilbride has worked with numerous organizations to accelerate their journey to excellence. He also serves as a member of the Panel of Judges for the IMEC Recognition Program, which administers Illinois’ recognition program modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
