Lunch & Learn: Introduction to a Lean & Quality-Focused Culture

Hosted by IMEC and the Workforce Development Center of John Wood Community College, this Lunch & Learn provides business leaders with the opportunity to learn about the basic concepts of the Lean model, including involvement of the workforce and leadership.  The session will also include the steps to develop a quality-centric roadmap to continuous improvement.  Focusing on lean and quality measures at your organization can improve employee engagement, decrease operational costs and increase overall efficiency.

Join us at the February 14 Lunch & Learn to reconnect with your local JWCC resources, hear from IMEC lean and quality experts, and meet the new Regional Manager dedicated to your region, Steve Sandercock.  You will leave with an understanding of the foundation for business optimization and growth.

Lean is a systematic approach to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities through continuous improvement – to increase productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.  The core goal in a Lean business is to maximize value to the customer while minimizing waste.  This session will introduce how effective execution of a lean business model offers significant benefits to both the business and their customers, including:

  • Engaged employees
  • Improved agility
  • Elimination of workflow bottlenecks
  • Reduced wastes from processes.

With an organization-wide commitment to the Lean building blocks – Organization and Standardized Work – your team is able to implement practices that will increase growth and quality output while optimizing your systems.
