IMIN Network Event: Job Analysis for Effective Training and Development
January 21 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am
For a variety of reasons, jobs are undergoing constant change and becoming more complex, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Managers face the two-fold challenge of knowing in advance which aspects of jobs will actually change and ensuring that workers possess the knowledge and skills to meet the new job requirements.
Job and Task Analysis plays a critical role in curriculum development, job relations, and the success workers experience when they are well-suited for a job. When completed, a job analysis will result in a clear description of the job, along with the skills, compensation levels, and documented training materials that will deliver positive job outcomes and worker satisfaction.
The January IMIN Network session will introduce the well-known technique called DACUM, or Developing a Curriculum provides a hands-on opportunity to use a modified version of the Defining a Curriculum technique. DACUM is shown to be especially effective for most small and medium-sized firms. The workshop will also discuss how to conduct a task analysis and to use the information to solve practical problems.

- 8:15 – Introduction to Job Analysis and DACUM
