ASSISTING MANUFACTURERS IN A SUCCESSFUL QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS) TRANSITION
As of October 1, 2017, no additional certifications will be issued to the ISO/TS16949:2009 standard. All transitions will have to pursue the requirements according to the IATF Guidelines. Are you ready?Not in transition, but interested in becoming IATF 16969? Are you ready?

IATF 16949:2016 represents an innovative document with a strong customer orientation, defining the fundamental quality management system requirements for automotive production, service and/or accessory parts organizations.
The goal of this International Standard is the development of a quality management system that:
- Provides for continual improvement•Emphasizes defect prevention
- Includes specific requirements andtools from automotive industry
- Promotes reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
What does this mean for you as an automotive manufacturer?
The newest revision of IATF 16949 states:
- ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification is valid through Sept. 14, 2018; then recertificationto IATF 16949 will be required
Typically, it takes 12 months of data from key processes for a new installation, however, transition to the new standard from ISO/TS16949 will take considerably less. Learn the requirements before you develop a plan for transitioning to IATF16949.
