Cook County Manufacturing Reinvented will provide more than 300 grants for a range of project types to support suburban Cook County manufacturers as they continue to rebound and rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic. The County will reimburse awarded businesses between $5,000-$25,000 of eligible expenses upon completion of their project.

Cook County and IMEC developed the proposed project categories and project examples based on survey responses from over 1,000 local manufacturers asked to identify their priorities and challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications will be accepted in the following categories: accessing customers and new markets, operational improvements, leadership development and talent solutions.

Application Details
- Qualified applicants must be a manufacturer in suburban Cook County, outside the city of Chicago boundary and less than 500 employees.
- To receive reimbursement, manufacturer must complete and implement project. Upon verification of project completion by IMEC, Cook County will reimburse the business for eligible expenses.
- This program will prioritize manufacturers located in historically excluded communities to ensure an equitable distribution of resources. Project awardees will be further prioritized based on business viability, potential economic impact, and total project investment.
