IMEC has created the Recovery Readiness Center to provide tools and resources that manufacturers can access to help them prepare for economic recovery. Illinois manufacturers continue to face enormous challenges as they rebuild from the recession.
To stay in business, many companies have had to reduce their workforce, defer maintenance on equipment and delay investments to improve operational effectiveness. As a result, many small and mid-sized companies will need help preparing to take advantage of the significant growth opportunities that will come with economic recovery. Those manufacturers that are NOT prepared will run a serious risk of not being able to satisfy their customers and may lose market share to competitors. Manufacturers who ARE prepared will grow rapidly, be more profitable and expand their workforces, helping rebuild our state and national economies.
Preparing your company to take advantage of growth opportunities is a three step process. First, a careful review of your current state will identify gaps that could be obstacles to recovery. Second, the gaps need to be prioritized and key constraints identified and a plan will to be developed to identify how these key gaps will be addressed. Third, your company will need to take action to eliminate any key constraints.
