[Chicago, Illinois] - The Illinois Manufacturing Extension Center (IMEC) is proud to be working closely with Upsize Chicago to give local and regional entrepreneurs resource connections to jumpstart business opportunities. Upsize Chicago is an angel investment group comprised of successful, serial entrepreneurs based in Chicagoland who are looking to fund local companies. The organization will work with applicants through one-on-one coaching to develop business growth plans and raise funding. Participants are competitively selected to participate in Upsize Chicago as part of an application, presentation, and evaluation process. For entrepreneurs that make the cut, at the end of the coaching program, they will be approved to pitch to Upsize Chicago’s angel investors who want to invest in great business opportunities.
Inspired by the hit TV show, “Shark Tank,” Upsize Chicago is seeking early stage companies with revenues over $100,000 that have the potential to become regional and national brands. Upsize Chicago investments range from $200,000 to $1,000,000. So if you are a manufacturer building your export business, a consumer brand expanding into new distribution channels, a professional service company that is growing your customer base and you need capital, connections, and coaching to take your business to the next level, visit the UpsizeChicago.com site and apply now.
“The tremendous talents of the Upsize Chicago team provide not only an alternative source of funding but the expertise build on known success.” said IMEC President David Boulay “To transform how manufacturers compete today, particularly early stage and diversifying manufacturers, we see this as an excellent resource for Illinois.”
Upsize Chicago Managing Principal, Francis Wisniewski further voiced that “Upsize Chicago is committed to funding and scaling the strong and growing base of Chicagoland companies that manufacture great products for consumers and businesses around the world." Supporting organizations include the Illinois Manufacturing Extension Center (IMEC), the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, and FundWell, an organization focused on finding small business loans, grants and financing.
About IMECIMEC was established in 1996 with the goal of improving the productivity and competitiveness of Illinois’ small and mid-sized manufacturing firms.
