IMEC to host inaugural Manufacturing Matchmaking event in February
One-on-one meetings for manufacturers to meet potential customers or suppliers

Peoria, Illinois - The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC), a nonprofit economic development organization in Peoria, will host its inaugural Manufacturing Matchmaking event at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 201 Broadway Street in Normal, Illinois on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. The event will give manufacturing organizations from across the state the opportunity to network with potential customers and suppliers for their manufacturing process by sharing information, samples and more.
“We have a responsibility to help facilitate matching the capabilities of our great manufacturing base with supply chain needs and market opportunities,” says David Boulay, President of IMEC. “These connections will help optimize supply chains, reduce carbon footprints, and importantly, create jobs through growth of local companies. We look forward to continuing this effort to strengthen made in Illinois.”
Organizers of Manufacturing Matchmaking, or speed networking, will set up companies with up to seven introductory meetings for fifteen minutes each. This provides manufacturers with the opportunity to open doors and share information with companies they may not have met through regular sales and outreach channels.
“This innovative event facilitates an exciting and effective way to make connections in a unique environment,” says Dan Daly, EVP & Market President at Busey. “It is a great networking tool for manufacturers to create future business partnerships. Busey is proud to sponsor Manufacturing Matchmaking, and I encourage you to join us.”
The deadline to register is Friday, December 20, 2013 to accommodate the match facilitation process. All appointments are addressed on a first come, first served registration basis; organizers will try to accommodate all priority requests. For additional information, please visit www.imec.org/Manufacturing-Matchmaking.cfm. Registration access is also available through the site.
The inaugural Manufacturing Matchmaking event is sponsored by Busey. Additional support is provided by the Made in Illinois program - highlighting the diversity of products made in the state and celebrating the companies that manufacture them - www.imec.org/Made-In-Illinois.cfm.
IMEC was established in 1996 with the goal of improving the productivity and competitiveness of Illinois’ small and mid-sized manufacturing firms. A non-profit economic development organization, IMEC is funded in part by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and through fees paid by Illinois manufacturers for IMEC’s services. IMEC has 11 offices statewide and 40 full-time manufacturing improvement specialists.
